This blistering 4 song 7” features cover art by Brian Walsby (known best for his 7-Seconds, “Walk Together…” art) and is limited to a first press of 300 (200 on purple and 100 on garbage colored vinyl.)

The sound is best described as hardcore punk rock done as only Cleveland veterans can do it—fast, raw, angry, melodic, and noisy, this thing is the real deal.

All three lived in East Storudsburg, PA where hardcore was only a road trip away to NJ or NY during the “rebirth” of the late-90s. Pete and Brian also played in a locally-known hardcore act known as Parting Shot. The zine was carried on consistently updated with interviews, the latest news on all things hardcore, plenty of record reviews and even a forum for video trading, for nearly two and a half years. Once all three graduated high school and moved onto other endeavors, the zine came to a halt.

In 2002, Gordo and Pete took things up again, inspired by bands such as The First Step and Running Like Thieves. The first issue, “Can’t Get Away From The Past” was a commemorative issue, to document their experience and efforts during the 97-era of hardcore. It was released at Posi-Numbers Fest 2002, selling over 300 copies on the Sunday show alone. The following winter, the follow-up issue, “New Steps Down An Old Road” was released, accompanied by a limited Running Like Thieves 7”, “The Approval of the Crowd,” limited to 300 copies on green vinyl. The 142-page zine, featuring a 76-page documentary on the historic venue, The Anthrax, sold out it’s complete run of 1000 zines in 3 months.

Since then, no future plans have been solidified for a third issue.

Guitarist and bandleader Joe D. Foster was in Uniform Choice, Ignite, No for an Answer, and Speak 714; guitarist Gavin Oglesby was also in No for an Answer; vocalist Joe Nelson was in Triggerman, in addition to serving as a roadie for Quicksand and Civ; the rhythm section, bassist Ed McKirdy and drummer P.T. Pugh, both came from the Suppression Swing, with McKirdy also having played in Hands Tied. After forming in early 1999, The Killing Flame recorded a pair of EPs, The Dream Dies (for California's Livewire imprint) and the German import Back to Ash. The group's full-length debut, Another Breath, was released by EVR in late 2000.

Available here is The Killing Flame's debut E.P. "The Dream Dies" on yellow color vinyl.

We climbed up on that stage for the last time and gave it our all. It was bitter sweet because the show went smoothly, we played well, we had a good time and then when our set was finished, we walked off that stage like we had just said our goodbyes to an old friend. The following month I found myself at CB’s for the final date of the Gorilla Biscuits reunion tour. To play CB’s one last time as a band and then to go to a show at CB’s, one last time as a fan, seemed like a fitting closure.

This was an extremely limited, one time release (200 pressed) and these are the only copies left.

Skull Crusher’s logo is emblazoned on the pocket, a bright red Livewire logotype is printed on the right sleeve while the back of the shirt boasts a 13", six-color print of the Skull Crusher Apocalypse illustration.

Note: the six-color back art is printed with halftones so don’t worry about a bullet proof sweat box on your back… this thing breathes!
